If you really want to save on packaging, buy it fresh and unsliced and put it in one of the bags you almost certainly have around the house.

Re: Deficient packaging

I have finally found someone that wonders why they do this. Jeeze, I really hate trying to go through 2 layers of wrapping when I am half asleep and need coffee and food. This drives me nuts.

Re: Deficient packaging

I think it is just a ploy for us to waste a piece of bread as we grab for it and mangle it as we wrestle with the second layer of plastic so close to our goal. And I find the opening for the second layer is on the opposite end of the outside layer's opening. GIVE ME MY BREAD! the animal in me shouts as I try to push through the second plastic coating.

Re: Deficient packaging

that is a loaf of Pepperidge Farm bread. I worked for the company at their Denver,PA plant for about a year. I hated the job. The loaves of bread run through the slicer and then into this giant machine that wraps them in that plastic. Usually the damn thing didn't work. There are so many resources wasted in that plant... it was sad to know I worked for them at times.
