    Oh yeah, they're cranking out the great stuff for us. Just yesterday we got an hour of Miley Cyrus nude "controversy", followed by an hour or so of Jeremiah Wright lipflap. All that topped-off with about a day of shark attack stories. So very relevant and worthy, eh.

    I could have said it better myself, Chris.

    There is one thing that concerns me. My mom is a junior high school teacher and she's beside herself with kids who have grown up in a world where all media is available online - a lot of them can't distinguish what is credible, sourced content vs. personal opinion. Those of us who were accustomed to these "traditional sources" before they went online have no trouble telling these sources apart, but some kids can't tell the difference.

    To some of them, there's no difference between the Wall Street Journal and personal blog as long as it comes up in Google.

    Really great point, Chris. I agree that while the new media allows anybody to have their own space/stage and say what they want, there is a large difference between what is credible, and a blog post where someone hasn't even done basic research (I have been on the receiving end of this) - Allie makes an excellent point about this as well in her comment above. It's not really a matter of either/or old versus new media, but rather how we can better integrate the two.

    Really great post, Chris. While new media allows anyone to have their own space/stage to say what they want, there is a big difference between credible content and a blog post, as Allie points out above. I think it's not so much a matter of either/or old or new media, but rather how better to integrate the two.
